Ankita and Dipen brought their family and friends to the Riviera Maya for a two-day Indian wedding rich with tradition, color, and celebration that stretched across both days.
Planned by Soon To Be Wedding, the celebration opened with a traditional Hindu ceremony overlooking the Caribbean, beneath a mandap that stopped people in their tracks. Guests returned the following evening for cocktails and a reception by the pool. Two days, one lovely couple, and no shortage of reasons to celebrate.
A Ceremony Rich in Tradition
Family and friends arrived to find Villa la Joya's oceanfront ceremony garden transformed into a breathtaking mandap. Flowing ivory draping framed the structure while lush arrangements of white, blush and soft peach flowers cascaded from every corner. Crystal chandeliers suspended beneath the fabric added another layer of elegance without taking attention away from the ceremony itself.
A glossy white aisle reflected the afternoon light, leading to an altar where every detail had been thoughtfully prepared.
Throughout the ceremony, a Hindu priest guided Ankita, Dipen and their families through a series of sacred rituals. While each tradition carries its own meaning, the collection of blessings, offerings and family participation reflected the importance of marriage as the joining of two families as much as two people.
Floral garlands, traditional offerings, sacred vessels, and the ceremonial fire surrounded the mandap. Family members took part throughout, which made every ritual feel shared rather than watched.
Fashion That Honoured Tradition
Ankita wore a striking red sari adorned with gold embroidery, complemented by elaborate jewellery and delicate henna designs extending across her hands and arms. Dipen wore a classic ivory sherwani with a coordinating turban, creating a timeless look that beautifully balanced the vibrant colours of the ceremony.
When guests returned for the second day of celebrations, Ankita changed into a beautifully embellished ivory lehenga while Dipen opted for a classic tuxedo jacket, creating an elegant transition from the traditional ceremony to the evening reception.
Later in the night, Ankita surprised guests once again with a vibrant purple party dress that brought a playful energy to the dance floor.
An Elegant Poolside Reception
The second day of wedding celebrations shifted to Villa la Joya's pool terrace, where guests gathered for cocktails before dinner beneath a spacious white canopy illuminated by crystal chandeliers.
Round tables dressed in crisp white linens were finished with black velvet chairs, candlelight and abundant white florals, creating an elegant contrast beneath the chandeliers.
Across the pool, the dance floor and bar created a second gathering space, allowing guests to move naturally between dinner, conversation and dancing throughout the night.
Separating dinner from the dance floor gave both spaces their own atmosphere, and we loved how naturally guests moved between them throughout the evening.
The reception also included thoughtful details, including signature cocktails named after the couple's beloved dogs. Adorable.
A Celebration for Every Generation
One of the most memorable parts of Ankita and Dipen's wedding was watching every generation become part of the celebration.
Children danced alongside grandparents, parents joined every celebration, and the dance floor stayed full well into the evening. It was a wedding where every generation found its moment.
Dancing, Fire Performers and a Night to Remember
As darkness settled over the villa, the celebration shifted gears. A fire performance lit the courtyard, performers moving between the arches and columns, setting up an evening that carried well into the night.
Ankita and Dipen shared a first dance beneath the chandeliers, laughing through most of it, before pulling everyone else onto the floor. Soon the music belonged to the whole room. Before the night wound down, they cut a two-tier cake finished with fresh raspberries, then went straight back to dancing.
Their two days came down to the things that mattered: family, tradition, and time made to celebrate with the people they love most.
