Isabel & Adam’s Composed Villa la Joya Wedding

Isabel & Adam’s Composed Villa la Joya Wedding

A Mexico Destination Wedding at Villa la Joya

In late 2025, Isabel and Adam gathered their family and friends at Villa la Joya for a wedding that knew exactly what it wanted to be. Every choice felt considered, the palette, the details, the pace of the day, and underneath all of it, the amor was unmistakable. You can see it in every photo.

Timeless Wedding Style with Thoughtful Details

Isabel wore a fitted lace gown with a sweetheart neckline and a long veil, her hair loose and flowing, a look that suited the ease of a Riviera Maya wedding without losing any of its polish. The lace bodice deserves its own mention: intricate, delicate, the kind of detail you notice more the closer you get.

Adam kept it classic in a black tuxedo and matching bow tie. Next to Isabel, exactly right.

The bridesmaids brought warmth to the palette in rich mauve satin, carrying bouquets of ivory, blush, soft pink, and deep burgundy with seasonal greenery. Isabel's own cascading bouquet echoed the same tones, soft neutrals grounded by that deep burgundy, tying the whole design together before the ceremony even began.

A Ceremony Framed by Villa la Joya’s Grand Entrance

Isabel and Adam exchanged vows on the grand entrance staircase, the villa's Mediterranean architecture rising behind them. Ivory draping softened the stone archway, and the florals carried the wedding palette right up to the altar.

One detail worth pausing on: each cane-back chair held a white folding fan. Small, practical, considered, the kind of gesture that tells guests someone thought about their afternoon, not just their photos.

Midway through the ceremony came a moment that quieted everyone. Adam presented his mother with a pair of traditional wedding ducks, wrapped in red and blue fabric, a gesture of gratitude rooted in East Asian tradition. Mandarin ducks mate for life, which is why they've long symbolized fidelity and a marriage in balance. The red and blue of the wrapping carries its own meaning: two different forces coming together in harmony.

A thank-you to his mother, a promise for his own marriage, and a piece of family heritage honored on the villa's staircase, all in one quiet exchange.

Wedding Reception Overlooking the Caribbean Sea

As evening settled in, guests moved to the oceanfront terrace for dinner beneath café lights. Long tables kept the conversation flowing, while Isabel and Adam took their place at a head table surrounded by their closest people.

Waiting on each plate was a personalized letter — one for every single guest, written by the couple themselves. Wax-sealed envelopes on handmade paper, each with a name on it. For a few minutes before dinner, the whole terrace went quiet. People read slowly. Some laughed. More than a few reached for their napkins for reasons that had nothing to do with the meal.

It's one thing to invite people to travel across the world for your wedding. It's another to hand each of them a reason, in writing, why you wanted them there.

Soft candlelight, elegant white linens, lush floral arrangements, and the Caribbean Sea created a relaxed atmosphere where heartfelt speeches, laughter, and countless toasts carried throughout the evening.

A Wedding Cake with a Sweet Surprise

Wedding cake or doughnuts? Isabel and Adam's guests didn't have to choose. Beside the tiered cake stood a full doughnut tower, a playful counterpoint to an otherwise composed evening, and proof that refined and fun were never competing.

A Reception Dress Made for Dancing

Later in the night, Isabel reappeared in a short reception dress covered in cascading floral appliqués that moved with every step. The dance floor got the message. Music, laughter, and a party that carried well into the evening.

Isabel & Adam’s Villa la Joya Wedding

A ceremony on the grand staircase. Dinner beside the Caribbean. A doughnut tower and a dress made for dancing. Isabel and Adam's late 2025 wedding was thoughtful where it counted and joyful everywhere else, and we were honored to host it.

Sujin & Christopher’s Elegant and Intimate Villa la Joya Wedding

Sujin & Christopher’s Elegant and Intimate Villa la Joya Wedding

Sujin and Christopher’s January wedding at Villa la Joya brought together Korean family traditions, beautiful ocean views, and an unforgettable celebration with the people they love most.

The celebration felt personal from the very first moment. Hanbok alongside garden games. Grandparents on the dance floor. A limbo contest nobody planned but everyone joined. This is exactly the kind of wedding Villa la Joya was made for.

A Romantic Bridal Style with Timeless Details

With her off-the-shoulder gown, soft updo, and flowing veil, Sujin embraced a bridal style that felt both graceful and understated. The focus remained on her natural beauty and the joy she carried throughout the day.

Her bouquet carried ivory, blush, and peach blooms that would reappear throughout the day in the florals, tying everything together quietly. Before the ceremony, she shared quiet moments with her family, including a sweet first look with her father that resulted in some of the most touching photographs of the day.

Family Traditions at the Heart of the Celebration

What stood out most about Sujin and Christopher's wedding was how present family was, not just in attendance, but in spirit.

Several family members wore hanbok, the traditional dress of Korea, honoring their heritage in a way that felt completely natural rather than ceremonial. The traditional attire created some of the most striking images of the day. More than that, it reflected something true about who these two people are and where they come from.

A First Look on Villa la Joya’s Oceanfront Balcony

Before guests arrived, Sujin and Christopher had the estate to themselves.

They shared their first look on the oceanfront balcony overlooking the Caribbean, laughing beneath the arches, taking in the view, letting the day settle over them before it began. The photographs from this hour show two people who were ready.

A Ceremony Framed by Flowers and Ocean Views

The ceremony took place on the grand entrance staircase, framed by six elevated floral arrangements in ivory, blush, and peach. The florals added softness without competing with the architecture, which, at Villa la Joya, is always the right call.

Those same flowers appeared again at cocktail hour and through the reception, creating a quiet visual thread that held the whole day together.

Surrounded by family and close friends, Sujin and Christopher exchanged their vows in a setting that felt joyful, intimate, and welcoming.

Oceanfront Cocktails and Family Fun

After the ceremony, guests gathered beside the pool with the Caribbean at their backs.

Personalized coconuts, giant Jenga, games on the grass. Children running. Family members finding each other beside the water. The afternoon had the feeling of a family gathering that happened to also be a wedding, which is exactly what it was.

A Reception Designed for Togetherness

Two long family-style tables brought everyone close. A sweetheart table for the newlyweds faced the sea.

Soft florals echoed the ceremony, candlelight filled the spaces between, and as the sun dropped over the water the whole setup shifted, less formal reception, more family dinner by the Caribbean. The kind of table you don't want to leave.

Dancing Beneath the Stars

Sujin changed into a playful pleated reception dress before dinner, and the energy of the evening changed with her.

The couple made their entrance as newlyweds and went straight into a choreographed first dance. Guests didn't need much convincing after that. What started as a relaxed dinner became a full party, conga lines, a limbo contest, celebratory shots, family members of every age finding their way to the floor and staying there.

The smaller guest list made all of it feel closer. Nobody held back. That's what happens when the people in the room genuinely know and love each other.

Congratulations, Sujin & Christopher

Thank you, Sujin and Christopher, for allowing Villa la Joya to be part of such a special day. We wish you both a lifetime filled with love and hope you're still talking about the limbo contest.

Classic Elegance, Endless Laughter: Cass & Mike’s Villa la Joya Wedding

Classic Elegance, Endless Laughter: Cass & Mike’s Villa la Joya Wedding

A Joyful Destination Wedding at Villa la Joya

The first thing we noticed wasn’t the flowers or the decor. It was the joy.

From adorable flower girls stealing the spotlight before the ceremony even began to a packed dance floor, a live saxophone, late-night burgers and fries, and a joyful sparkler send-off, Cass and Mike’s January wedding at Villa la Joya was filled with genuine happiness from beginning to end.

Of course, the beautiful details were impossible to ignore. An elegant all-white ceremony at the Villa la Joya entrance, abundant floral arrangements softened with tropical greenery, sophisticated fashion, and a reception beneath café lights created a celebration that felt both classic and effortlessly relaxed. It was the perfect balance of refined design and unforgettable fun.

An Elegant Private Villa Wedding Ceremony

Guests gathered on Villa la Joya’s grand entrance staircase, where abundant white florals created a sophisticated, dreamy welcome. A variety of white blooms accented with fresh tropical greenery complemented the villa’s Mediterranean-inspired architecture while allowing the surrounding palms and views to shine.

The bridal party added soft touches of color to the timeless palette. Bridesmaids wore elegant butter-yellow gowns, while the youngest flower girls charmed everyone in delicate powder-blue dresses. Together with the adorable ring bearers, they completely stole the show before making way for the bride’s entrance, filling the ceremony with smiles and laughter from the very beginning.

Cass & Mike Brought the Fashion: Bridal Style for a Destination Wedding

Cass looked stunning in a sleek, modern wedding gown featuring a beautifully structured bodice, a flowing veil, and a dramatic train that looked incredible on Villa la Joya’s grand staircase. She carried an elegant bouquet of white calla lilies, orchids, and cascading greenery that perfectly complemented the wedding’s sophisticated floral design.

Mike embraced timeless style in a classic white dinner jacket with black lapels, creating an elegant black-tie look that paired beautifully with the wedding’s refined aesthetic.

Throughout the day, one detail stood out more than any other. Every time they looked at each other, they were beaming. Completely dialed into one another. Swoon.

Cocktail Hour by the Caribbean SEA

Following the ceremony, guests gathered in Villa la Joya’s oceanfront garden for a relaxed cocktail hour overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Tropical drinks, ocean breezes, and spectacular views created the perfect atmosphere for family and friends to reconnect while the newlyweds explored the property for portraits.

The colorful attire of their guests brought a cheerful splash of tropical color to the elegant white celebration, capturing everything we love about destination weddings in Mexico.

An Elegant Reception Beneath the Stars

The reception carried the same timeless style into the evening. Long white tables overlooked the Caribbean, dressed with crisp linens, sparkling glassware, candlelight, and elegant calla lilies displayed in slender glass vases. The clean design allowed the ocean to remain the star while creating an atmosphere that felt sophisticated, welcoming, and effortlessly romantic.

One of our favorite details was the sweetheart table overlooking the sea, framed by lush white florals and tropical greenery. Overhead, café lights created a warm glow as guests enjoyed dinner before the celebration moved to the personalized dance floor.

Then It Was Time to Celebrate

As the evening unfolded, the celebration shifted from elegant dinner to unforgettable party.

Cass changed into a fun mini reception dress that was perfect for dancing, while a live saxophonist kept guests on their feet throughout the night. Family and friends packed the dance floor, proving that the best destination weddings are the ones where everyone feels part of the celebration.

Even the heart-shaped wedding cake reflected the day’s timeless style, while late-night burgers and fries gave everyone one more reason to keep the party going.

A Sparkling Ending

As the evening came to a close, guests lined the walkway with sparklers, creating the perfect send-off for the newlyweds. Surrounded by cheers, laughter, and the people they love most, Cass and Mike ended the day exactly as it had begun, with huge smiles and an incredible amount of joy.

Looking through Cass and Mike’s wedding gallery, it’s impossible not to smile. From the adorable flower girls and ring bearers in the wedding party to the elegant oceanfront ceremony, the lively dance floor, and the unforgettable sparkler exit, every photograph reflects a celebration that was as meaningful as it was fun.

Cass and Mike, thank you for allowing Villa la Joya to be part of such a beautiful chapter in your lives. We wish you a lifetime filled with laughter, adventure, and many more celebrations together.

Dream Team of Wedding Professionals

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible team of wedding professionals who brought Cass and Mike’s beautiful vision to life. Your creativity, professionalism, and attention to detail helped create a celebration filled with elegance, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

A Sophisticated Destination Wedding at Villa La Joya Riviera Maya | Stefania & Kevin

A Sophisticated Destination Wedding at Villa La Joya Riviera Maya | Stefania & Kevin

Planning a destination wedding in Mexico without ever visiting your venue in person might sound intimidating, but for Stefania and Kevin, it turned out to be one of the best decisions they made.

This fun Canadian couple fell in love with Villa La Joya from afar, drawn to its beachfront location, grand architecture, and elegant atmosphere. They envisioned a wedding that felt refined and timeless while still embracing the beauty of the Caribbean Sea, and Villa La Joya delivered exactly that.

Why They Chose Villa La Joya for Their Destination Wedding in Mexico

Mexico had already become part of Stefania and Kevin’s story long before their wedding day. From extended stays in Sayulita to a sunset proposal in Holbox, many of their favorite memories together had been created here.

When it came time to choose a wedding venue, they wanted ocean views without sacrificing elegance.

“We dreamed of a beach wedding, but without sacrificing sophistication,” Stefania shared.

Villa La Joya immediately stood out. The villa’s Spanish-inspired architecture, marble floors, oceanfront setting, and timeless design perfectly matched the elevated atmosphere they envisioned for their celebration.

Planning from Canada, they also appreciated the experience and guidance of Villa Planners, who helped coordinate every detail from afar and made the entire process feel seamless.

An Elegant Oceanfront Ceremony in the Seaside Garden

The ceremony took place in Villa La Joya’s seaside garden overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

An elevated white platform framed by lush floral pillars created a beautiful focal point for the vows while ensuring every guest had a clear view of the ceremony. Gold ceremony chairs and a classic palette of white flowers complemented the villa’s architecture and allowed the natural beauty of the oceanfront setting to shine.

Stefania walked down the aisle wearing a fitted corset-style gown paired with a delicate veil and loose flowing locks. Her look was classic yet modern and it was just perfect for this gorgeous bride.

Kevin complemented her beautifully in an ivory dinner jacket with black trousers, creating a refined black-tie-inspired look that fit the occasion perfectly.

A Chic and Relaxed Cocktail Hour

Following the ceremony, guests gathered for cocktail hour in one of Villa La Joya’s oceanfront entertaining spaces. Our garden weddings by the sea are never the same, the layout is flexible for your designs.

Comfortable lounge seating created welcoming areas for conversation while guests enjoyed the sea breeze, cocktails, and time together before the reception began.

The atmosphere struck a perfect balance between elegance and relaxation, allowing everyone to fully enjoy the destination wedding experience. Looking through the gallery, what stands out most isn’t the décor or the ocean views. It’s the mood. The smiles never stop.

A Timeless White and Gold Reception Design

The reception continued the couple’s vision of understated sophistication.

Round guest tables dressed in crisp white linens were accented with white rose centerpieces and gold chairs, creating a look that felt refined without being overly formal or stiff.

One of the most thoughtful details appeared at each place setting: personalized scarves created as wedding favors. The custom pieces added a meaningful touch to the celebration and felt especially fitting for a couple whose relationship has been shaped by travel and shared adventures.

A Reception Dress Change Made for Dancing

As the celebration transitioned from dinner to dancing, Stefania surprised guests with a second bridal look.

Trading her ceremony gown for a playful short reception dress, she brought a fresh energy to the dance floor while maintaining the sophisticated style that defined the day.

The change perfectly reflected the evolution of the evening, from elegant ceremony to unforgettable celebration.

Cake, Fireworks & Unforgettable Memories

One of the most memorable moments of the night came during the cake cutting.

Framed by Villa La Joya’s grand wooden doors, Stefania and Kevin shared a kiss beside a beautifully designed rectangular wedding cake illuminated by candlelight and string lights.

From emotional vows and heartfelt speeches to spontaneous dancing and fun moments with family and friends, the entire day was amazing.

Advice for Couples Planning a Destination Wedding in Mexico

When asked what advice they would give to other couples considering a destination wedding, Stefania and Kevin’s answer was simple:

Stay true to what you want.

Your wedding day is an opportunity to create something that reflects who you are as a couple. Surround yourself with professionals you trust, focus on the moments that matter most, and don’t get too caught up in expectations.

Most importantly, stay close to your partner and experience the day together.

Congratulations, Stefania & Kevin

Thank you, Stefania and Kevin, for allowing Villa La Joya to be part of such an important chapter in your story.

We wish you both a lifetime of adventures, laughter, beautiful memories, and many more sunsets together.

Dominique & Idan’s Elegant Destination Wedding at Villa la Joya

Dominique & Idan’s Elegant Destination Wedding at Villa la Joya

Dominique and Idan’s wedding at Villa la Joya was everything couples imagine when dreaming about a romantic destination wedding in the Riviera Maya.

A traditional ceremony on the grand staircase of the villa. A spectacular Caribbean backdrop. Soft lavender bridesmaid dresses. Emotional speeches filled with tears and laughter. Candlelit reception tables overlooking the sea. Fireworks during the first dance. A packed dance floor from cocktail hour until late into the night.

It was romantic, lively, timeless, and unmistakably Villa la Joya.

We were especially excited to collaborate again with Fidan and Milena from Destination Wedding Dream, whose thoughtful planning and design brought the celebration together so beautifully. We’ve worked together before over the years and always love seeing the way their weddings balance elegance with warmth, personality, and genuine connection between guests.

First Looks, Fashion & Caribbean Romance

The day began with a romantic first look overlooking the Mexican Caribbean from the balcony of Villa la Joya. With turquoise water stretching behind them and perfect Riviera Maya weather surrounding the villa, the moment felt quiet, and effortlessly elegant.

Dominique wore a fitted lace gown with delicate straps, shimmering details, and a dramatic flowing train that moved beautifully in the ocean breeze. Her bridal styling paired soft glam makeup with long dark waves and classic romantic details that suited the setting perfectly.

Idan kept things equally classic in a white tuxedo jacket with black lapels. Together, they looked incredible against the tropical backdrop of the Riviera Maya.

One detail we especially loved was the bridesmaids’ soft lavender dresses. The flowing silhouettes added movement throughout the celebration. Against the cream stone architecture of the villa, tropical greenery, and ocean views, the color palette felt refined and perfect for a spring wedding in Mexico.

A Romantic Ceremony on the Grand Staircase of Villa la Joya

The ceremony took place on the grand staircase at the entrance of Villa la Joya, one of the most iconic ceremony locations at the villa and a breathtaking setting for a destination wedding in the Riviera Maya.

A lush floral arch overflowing with white roses, soft blooms, and greenery framed the couple as they exchanged vows on the staircase of the villa. The design complemented the natural beauty of the venue perfectly, allowing the elegant architecture, warm tropical light, and surrounding Caribbean atmosphere to remain part of the experience.

More than anything, the ceremony was filled with happiness. There were emotional moments, of course, but also constant laughter, smiling, and genuine connection shared between family and friends throughout the afternoon. Nothing about the ceremony felt stiff or overly formal.

Cocktail Hour & A Sophisticated Oceanfront Reception

After the ceremony, guests gathered around the pool terrace for cocktail hour overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Children ran around the property adding a sweet family warmth to the evening, while guests drifted easily between cocktails, conversation, ocean views, and the dance floor before dinner had even begun.

The reception design embraced a more refined and understated style, allowing the beauty of Villa la Joya to remain the focal point throughout the evening. Reception tables were dressed with candlelight, crystal glassware, delicate floral details, and soft white tones that created an elegant atmosphere without ever feeling excessive.

The sweetheart table overlooking the sea became one of the visual highlights of the reception, framed by an elegant floral installation that glowed beautifully beneath the candlelight and string lights later in the evening.

Between the sweeping staircase, oceanfront terrace, and open-air reception spaces, Villa la Joya naturally allows weddings to flow from one part of the celebration to the next. Lounge areas created relaxed conversation spaces on the lawn while guests moved comfortably between cocktails, dinner, dancing, and oceanfront views all night long.

The vintage-inspired audio guest book became one of the most memorable details of the evening, allowing friends and family to leave heartfelt voice messages for the newlyweds throughout the celebration.

Emotional Speeches, Fireworks & A Dance Floor Full of Energy

The speeches throughout the evening brought plenty of tears and even more laughter. Family and friends shared heartfelt stories and memories that made the reception feel incredibly personal. You could feel just how loved Dominique and Idan are by everyone surrounding them.

And then the party really began.

Guests had already started dancing during cocktail hour, which honestly set the tone for the rest of the night. Once dinner ended, the dance floor stayed packed for the rest of the evening, creating the kind of reception energy guests talk about long after the wedding ends.

Dominique & Idan surprised guests with a choreographed first dance complete with fireworks, transforming the terrace into a full celebration beneath the Mexico night sky. Like the best weddings always are, this one was not just beautiful to look at. It was genuinely fun to be part of.

A huge thank you to Dominique and Idan for allowing us to be part of such an incredible wedding day at Villa la Joya. We also want to thank this amazing team of vendors whose creativity, professionalism, and collaboration helped bring every detail to life.

And a very special thank you to Fidan and Milena from Destination Wedding Dream. It is always such a pleasure collaborating with planners who create weddings that feel beautiful, joyful, and genuinely personal from beginning to end.
