Jenny & Vince’s Vibrant Tropical Wedding Celebration at Villa La Joya

Jenny & Vince’s Vibrant Tropical Wedding Celebration at Villa La Joya

Some weddings are pure joy from start to finish — and Jenny & Vince’s celebration at Villa La Joya was exactly that.

This day was extra special because it was planned and designed by Fidan of Designed Dream Events, someone we first connected with back in 2020 during lockdown. After years of dreaming about creating a wedding at Villa La Joya, she finally had the chance — and the results were magic.

Ceremony by the Sea

The Mexican Caribbean Sea set the stage for the garden ceremony framed by a circular arch of lush florals in soft pinks and vibrant tangerines by @styleme.events. Light wooden chairs lined the aisle, their rattan seats warm and natural against the turquoise ocean and the waving palms.

To keep guests comfortable in the afternoon sun, elegant white parasols waited on each seat — a thoughtful touch that blended practicality with style and made for great photos too.

Before guests arrived, the couple shared a first look on Villa La Joya’s iconic balcony. Jenny’s lace gown with a daring slit flowed in the sea breeze, while Vince’s sharp blue suit brought timeless elegance to the tropical backdrop.

Jenny and Vince’s vows were full of both laughter and tears, the kind of words that had everyone smiling through misty eyes.

Fresh, Fruity, and Full of Color

As the sun dipped lower, guests were welcomed into a reception that carried the tropical energy of the ceremony forward. Centerpieces of bold florals paired with fresh melons and oranges by Style Me Events brought color, texture, and a playful nod to summer. Super fresh vibes.

A mix of rectangular and circular white tables paired with light wooden chairs with rattan seats gave the space an inviting, organic feel.

At the center of it all, Jenny and Vince’s sweetheart table overflowed with the lush flowers of the day, framed by the repurposed circular ceremony arch — a beautiful focal point tying the design together.

An Entrance to Remember

When it came time for the bridal party to enter, they didn’t walk — they danced. Groomsmen and bridesmaids joined forces for a full choreographed number that had the crowd cheering.

Then Jenny and Vince made their own entrance, with Jenny now in a short reception dress with a big, beautiful statement bow on the back and comfy tennis shoes — the perfect look for what came next.

Together, they proved they were total dance pros, adding lifts, spins, and stunts into their routine. The dance floor was already on fire, and the night was just beginning.

The Dance Floor Was on Fire

From that first routine on, the party didn’t stop. The bridal party pulled off more choreographed numbers throughout the night, and guests jumped in; at one point, the celebration even went full breakdancing.

A transparent dance floor over the pool by Hercon Entertainment, became the ultimate stage. Floating candles cast a warm glow over the water, making every dance move feel magical.

Between routines, the smooth sounds of live saxophonist Ariel drifted across the night, giving the evening both elegance and energy.

Toasts and Laughter

In between all the dancing, guests paused to raise their glasses. Warm, heartfelt speeches were filled with love, gratitude, and plenty of laughs — the kind of toasts that remind everyone why they’re there, celebrating under the stars.

A Grand Finale

As the evening reached its peak, the sky lit up with a stunning fireworks display over the ocean by Pyrocaribe. Reflections danced on the waves, framing the perfect ending to an unforgettable day. A late-night spread of tacos and tequila appeared for the dancers still going strong — a casual, delicious nod to Mexico that kept the party alive well past midnight

Wedding Planner’s Perspective

For Fidan, Jenny & Vince’s wedding in Mexico was more than a beautiful event — it was proof of how seamlessly a planner and Villa La Joya can work together to create something extraordinary.

“The villa’s elegant charm, private oceanfront, and stunning views created the perfect setting,” Fidan says. “The Villa La Joya staff and manager were professional, kind, and a dream to work with. They made the entire process smooth and enjoyable from start to finish.”

Her advice to other destination wedding planners? Choose a private wedding venue like Villa La Joya for exclusivity, beauty, and a supportive team. Embrace color — bold, tropical palettes are not only trending now but will carry into 2026. And most of all, trust your team so you and your couple can enjoy every second.

Villa la Joya Wedding Ceremony Details

Jenn and Matt hosted their ceremony in front of the Villa la Joya grand façade, creating a distinct space from their cocktail hour and reception. This allowed guests to experience different areas of the venue and enjoy a flow that felt both intentional and effortless.

Guests were seated on cushioned wooden chairs, facing a circular floral arch created by Pentaflor—a really amazing masterpiece of vibrant roses and tropical blooms in pink, orange, yellow, and white tones. The floral design complemented the architecture of Villa la Joya beautifully and added color and joy to the ceremony space. We are always happy to work with the best floral vendors in the Riviera Maya and Pentaflor is among our faves.

“We wanted the ceremony to feel separate and special. The team made everything relaxed and easy so we could be present and enjoy every second.”

Reception by the Sea: Ocean Views and Breakdancing Groomsmen

Following the ceremony, guests moved to the seaside reception area, where the original floral arch was repurposed as a backdrop for the sweetheart table. Long wooden tables were decorated with bright floral centerpieces, matching the tropical-meets-elegant wedding theme that works so magnificently at Villa la Joya.

The reception featured:

Dinner by Icaza Creativos Catering

Open bar with custom cocktails by Barras Libres

Live music and dance lighting by Disco Movil Cancun

Toasts, laughter, and Olympic-level groomsmen breakdancing

With the Caribbean Sea just steps away, guests danced with the ocean breezes under twinkling lights and enjoyed a night that was truly unforgettable.

Why They Chose a Villa Wedding in the Riviera Maya

Jenn and Matt’s decision to skip a resort wedding was all about creating a personal, flexible experience. They discovered Villa la Joya while researching unique wedding venues in Playa del Carmen and were immediately drawn to its private, elegant setting.

“We didn’t want a resort wedding. Villa la Joya gave us everything we were looking for—privacy, beauty, and the ability to make the day our own.”

The couple worked with Villa Planners (led by Adriana Hiromoto), who brought her years of experience and a calm, professional approach to destination wedding planning in Mexico.

“We didn’t have to worry about a thing. Everything was handled so we could just relax and enjoy our day.”

Vivian & Khai’s Destination Wedding at Villa La Joya Riviera Maya

Vivian & Khai’s Destination Wedding at Villa La Joya Riviera Maya

A romantic oceanfront celebration filled with color, heart, and chic wedding style.

The Love Story: From Hinge to “I Do”

Vivian and Khai’s story began on Hinge, where a first date over ramen turned into something much more. Khai brought his sweet corgi, Peanut, and instantly made an impression.

“The conversation was effortless,” Vivian says. “We had so much in common—family values, spice tolerance, and music taste.”

The proposal came in their backyard, under twinkle lights strung across their pagoda.

With help from friends and family, Khai created a moment straight from a movie.

Peanut trotted out in a tuxedo and carried the first question: “Will you be Peanut’s mom?” Then came the second: “Will you marry me?” There was no hesitation.

Why get married in Mexico? Why Villa La Joya?

The couple had always loved vacationing in Mexico. “The people are so nice, the weather is beautiful, and the vibes are immaculate,” says Vivian.

They wanted a beachside ceremony—but not a sandy one. Villa La Joya was the perfect fit. A private estate by the sea, elegant and secluded. No resort crowds. Just ocean views, tropical gardens, and an atmosphere that felt like home.

Bold Wedding Fashion, Romantic Details

Khai wore a deep red tuxedo with black lapels — a striking look that stood out beautifully against the villa’s classic architecture. Seriously, we LOVED this look.

Vivian chose a shimmering Maggie Sottero gown with a structured corset bodice and flowing skirt that moved with grace through every moment. This bridal gown was perfect for a destination wedding in the Riviera Maya, romantic yet sexy, flawless.

A Villa la Joya Garden Ceremony in Full Bloom

The ceremony took place in the garden, beneath the swaying palms with the ocean just beyond. Floral towers in vivid shades of red, orange, and hot pink framed the altar, bursting with texture and tropical color.

Designed by Pri Ola, the florals brought a sense of joy and richness to every scene — lush, artful, and unforgettable. The bouquets, the tables, the towers, florals played a big part in making this an amazingly gorge event.

Guests were seated facing the sea, surrounded by greenery and soft light. There were no distractions. Just beauty, and the sound of the waves.

Riviera Maya Wedding Reception Beside the Sea

Round reception tables were set beneath the open sky, surrounded by blush velvet chairs and wooden accents that gave warmth and ease. The table settings were elegant and inviting and great for making conversation. Velvet chairs are just the ultimate.

As the sun faded and the candlelight began to glow, the evening took on a magical softness.

It felt like an intimate dinner at a seaside villa with everyone they loved most. Which is exactly what it was. A private villa wedding in Mexico is the solution for anyone seeking a personal, exclusive, and unique celebration.

A Dance to Remember

Their reflections glimmered in the water below, the Caribbean Sea stretching out behind them. It was quiet. Romantic. Swoon.

Bride’s Sassy Reception Look & After Party Glow

Vivian changed into a sleek white satin mini dress with a halter neckline and open back — perfect for dancing under the stars. Her sparkling heels added just the right touch of party glam. Bridal fashion realness! She was an absolute star on the dance floor with Khai. (Did we tell you how much we adored his red tux?)

The villa glowed with warm light as guests filled the dance floor. The music rocked, the laughter echoed, and the entire night shimmered with love and energy.

“When we finally sat down to eat and looked around,” Vivian recalls, “We just felt so grateful. Everything was perfect.”

Advice From a Destination Wedding Bride

If you’re dreaming of a destination wedding, Vivian’s advice is simple:

“Get a wedding planner — it makes the planning process more fun and is totally worth the investment.”

“And DO IT!”

Fio & Tito Say “I Do” at Villa La Joya: A Dreamy Seaside Wedding Full of Heart

Fio & Tito Say “I Do” at Villa La Joya: A Dreamy Seaside Wedding Full of Heart

Fio and Tito’s love story is one of fate and destiny, from the front steps of their childhood school to the grand staircase of Villa La Joya. Their destination wedding in the Riviera Maya was a colorful, emotional, and joy-filled celebration of a bond that began in their youth and grew into a lifetime promise—sealed with sun, sea, and a whole lot of dancing.

Love Story: From First Kiss to Forever

Fio always had a little crush on Tito back in primary school—but only her closest friends knew. Years later, in 2008, they reconnected at a high school party during their final year. Tito made the first move, inviting her out for a drink—and on August 3, they shared their first kiss.

The years brought them around the world. In 2020, during the quiet and uncertainty of the pandemic, a conversation in New Zealand sparked the start of forever. “We started talking about the future,” Fio shared, “and just like that, we began planning our dream wedding—somewhere by the sea.”

Riviera Maya Wedding Ceremony: Emotions on the Grand Stairs

Their destination wedding dreams brought them to the Riviera Maya and straight to Villa La Joya, where the couple instantly fell in love with the elegant architecture, beachfront views, and warm welcome. “It was even more stunning in person than in the photos,” said Fio. “The moment we arrived, we knew we were in the right place.”

Fio and Tito tied the knot on Villa La Joya’s iconic front staircase—the perfect backdrop for their emotional wedding ceremony. Surrounded by pastel florals in hues of blush, mauve, creamy whites, and soft reds, the couple exchanged vows through happy tears and heartfelt words.

Save your date, book your Riviera Maya wedding at our private villa venue today!

Fio looked effortlessly elegant in a one-shoulder gown from Rosa Clará—simple, sculptural, and stunning—paired with a glowing, natural makeup look and a soft updo. Tito brought the cool with a lightweight tropical suit and signature sunglasses, keeping it effortlessly stylish through the vows to the last dance.

Villa la Joya Wedding Reception: Pastel Dreams & Disco Balls

The celebration continued in the seaside garden of Villa La Joya—with a personalized dance floor over the pool, hanging lanterns, glowing Edison lights, and a stunning arrangement of lush greenery and sparkling disco balls suspended above, the party scene was set.

Their color palette—pastel tones with touches of red, pink, beige, and gold—blended perfectly with the villa’s natural elegance. “We wanted warmth, but also something youthful and fun,” said Fio. And they absolutely nailed it.

Guests were treated to an unforgettable evening filled with laughter, moving toasts, and nonstop dancing. The dessert table was to die for, delighting everyone’s sweet tooth—both picture-perfect and truly delicious. The drinks flowed, the music bumped (shoutout to DJ Levels), and Fio and Tito celebrated their happiness with their closest friends and family. Shots, sweet dance moves, and joy, a memorable evening of love by the seaside.

A Word to Future Destination Wedding Brides

Fio’s best newlywed advice? “Enjoy every moment—it all goes by too fast. A destination wedding is a dream come true, and what really matters isn’t just how beautiful everything looks, but the energy and excitement you bring. That’s what everyone remembers. Viva la vida!”

¡Muchas gracias Fio y Tito, Que Vivan los Novios!

A Dreamy Wedding at Villa La Joya: Courtney & Beattie's Love Story

A Dreamy Wedding at Villa La Joya: Courtney & Beattie's Love Story

From Office Romance to a Gondola Proposal in Venice

Courtney & Beattie’s and love story began at work, from co-workers to newlyweds and forever-after partners! After two years of friendship, they went on their first date and never looked back. Their romance took a fairy-tale turn when Beattie proposed on a gondola ride in Venice, Italy. With the canals of Venice as their backdrop, the moment felt like it was straight out of a movie - setting the stage for their future picture-perfect destination wedding in Mexico.

Why Choose Riviera Maya for a Destination Wedding?

When it came time to plan their wedding, Courtney & Beattie knew they wanted more than just a one-day celebration - they wanted a full experience. The Riviera Maya offered the perfect blend of natural beauty, tropical vibes, and vacation fun for their guests.

"Your wedding is the only time when everyone you love is gathered in one place to celebrate YOU - embrace that for as long as you can!" says Courtney. They embrace it by turning their wedding day into a wedding week, a major celebration in paradise.

Why Villa La Joya and Villa Planners Are the Perfect Match

Courtney and Beattie fell in love with Mexico wedding venue Villa La Joya from the moment they saw it online. Its elegant architecture, reminiscent of Italian villas, brought back memories of their Venetian engagement, making it feel like fate.

What sealed the deal was the ability to personalize every detail. Villa La Joya’s blank canvas appeal allowed the couple to design their dream wedding from the ground up. Partnering with Villa Planners, the venue’s expert in-house wedding planning team, made the experience even better.

"Not only do they know the villa inside and out and have outstanding relationships with the vendors, but they are also 100% committed to making your wedding day absolutely perfect," Emily shared.

A Riviera Maya Wedding Day Filled with Joy, Tears, and Surprises

While every moment of their big day was unforgettable, the couple’s favorite memory was sharing a secret that left their guests in awe - they had eloped exactly one year earlier! We LOVE a surprise reveal!

The announcement sparked cheers, laughter, and happy tears, turning the celebration into a truly magical and emotional event.
"We wouldn’t have traded that moment for the world," Courtney says.

Timeless Elegance Meets Tropical Vibes

Courtney and Beattie chose a classic black-and-white wedding theme with a Riviera Maya tropical twist. Their décor stayed true to timeless elegance with crisp monochrome details, while their vibrant florals added pops of color, giving the celebration a modern and exotic feel.

The inspiration? Emily’s parents’ 1991 wedding - a black-and-white affair that stood the test of time.

No Regrets, Only Gratitude

When asked if they would change anything, Courtney was clear - “Not a single thing!”

From start to finish, our partners at Villa Planners made sure every detail was flawless. Their dedication to perfection ensured the couple’s vision came to life, leaving Courtney and Beattie with memories they’ll treasure forever.
