A Villa la Joya wedding is not complete without the gorgeous flowers that bring our gardens
and villa to life with color, aroma and the personal style of YOU, our special guests. Wedding flowers set the scene and the vibe, soft and gentle pastel petals or dynamic brights and stunning floral sculptures, the choice is YOURS and we are always excited to see your plans!
At Villa la Joya, we have NO vendor fees which allows you a little extra in your budget for important things like bouquets and centerpieces. One of our favorite florists in Playa del Carmen is Cherry Blossom and we asked them to share with us their picks for Hottest Destination Wedding Flower Trends for 2021. Get ready for some beautiful inspiration!
Destination Wedding Flower Trends - Sustainable Arrangements
We suggest using plants that can be repotted after the ceremony. “We’re seeing a potential move from complex ‘arranged’ designs using a vast mix of cut, cultivated stems to simply stunning arrangements of one variety of seasonal flower on mass, perhaps planted where possible so that they can live on after the wedding.”
Yellow Wedding Flowers? We Say “I DO!”
Yellow has been one of those love/hate colors for us, florists, for a long time and I think it is a case of doing some research into what is available for the season and finding the right tones.
Yellow has so many wonderful tones in nature that there are shades to suit every season. Not only does it look good as flowers, but the intensity of mustard works so well with rich fabrics like velvet and satin that you can incorporate it into everything from table runners to bridesmaid dresses
Cherry Blossom Florists Playa del Carmen - Always on Trend
“Aisle meadows” are definitely trending for 2021. This creates a way to frame the couple, along with their guests, during the ceremony. But couples are using this as an Instagrammable moment for their guests to take photos with as well.
Destination Wedding Flower Eternity Arches Still Hot for 2021
Eternity arches were definitely having their time in the limelight for 2019 and into 2020. And while those installations are certainly stunning, many couples are requesting options that are even more creative. “Couples have been very open to letting their planners and florists run wild with ceremony concepts”.
Wedding Reception Table Floral Arrangements in 2021
Guests are spending more time seated at the reception table (due to limited dancing), and this change has made the aesthetic of the reception table more of a priority for couples. Some elements can be lush, overgrown centerpieces, candles, and a few unexpected elements mixed in such as fruits, nuts, and books.
They Say the Neon Lights Are Bright - Wedding Decor Hot Trend Alert
Wedding neon signs are all the rage and we’re fully on board with this trend! Not only do neon signs provide some eye-catching and moody lighting, but they’re also a way to make a statement in a big and beautiful way. Neon signs can be focal points in ceremony or reception spaces and can double as DIY photo booth areas (just add props).
Pastel Wedding Flowers Are a Divine New Trend
2019 – 2020 saw a surge in greenery and blush themed weddings. In 2021 pastels are going to be the next big thing. Baby pinks, blue and yellows with a splash of coral, and stationery to match.
